Pool House’s association with the sea goes back a long way. During the Second World War it was the base for Lord Rowallan and the Highland Fieldcraft Training Centre who were stationed in Poolewe as well as being headquarters for the Royal Navy who co-ordinated their North Atlantic convoys from the house.
For this reason each of the suites have been named after a Naval vessel who during this time sailed and served in the chill waters of the North Atlantic. However, as you will see when you click on the name of each suites opposite, the interiors reflect more the potential destinations of these vessels conjuring up such ports of call as Bombay, Marseille and even Shanghai!
