home of Osgood Mackenzie, founder of the world famous
Inverewe Garden that is now in the care of the National
Trust for Scotland.
During World War II it was base
for Lord Rowallan and the Highland Fieldcraft
Training Centre who were stationed in Poolewe as well
as being headquarters for the Royal Navy who
co-ordinated their North Atlantic convoys
from the house.
